This informal session is about understanding the roles and responsibilities of charitable trustees and how to ensure that you get the best out of your contribution and experience.
The session will provide you with an overview of how you can make a contribution to improving people’s lives and communities, your legal commitments, and will address what being a trustee for a charity means in today’s changing political, social and economic environment
Tracey O’Brien, Director of Policy and Programmes at BVSC, will deliver the session and Nick Venning from Pricewaterhouse Coopers (Chairman of St Basils Fundraising Committee, a youth homelessness charity in Birmingham) will talk about how becoming involved in a charity can widen your knowledge and skills. Karl George MBE, founder of The Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners will provide us with his perspective on the role of the charitable trustee.

This session is for anyone with an interest in trusteeship including those considering becoming a trustee or those already in trustee positions.
