There's no doubt the festive season is in full swing now. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support this year. Our membership has grown tremendously and our events have been extremely well supported.
Thanks also to all of you who took the time to complete our members survey. We will be reporting key findings in the New Year. I would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Thinking about joining a committee?

Well, how about the mentoring team?
We always need to raise the profile of the scheme to encourage potential mentors and mentees to join, but in 2006 we're undertaking an organisation-wide evaluation project as well as looking to forge links with outside mentoring projects.
To help drive this forward, we need you! So, if you're interested in having a chat about the scheme and how you could be involved call Madeleine on 0121 643 8151 or email at mr@core-marketing.co.uk
Membership Committee
New members of Birmingham Future, will be invited to a New Members Lunch (free of charge) which is an opportunity for you to meet other new members. Members of the Birmingham Future Leadership Team will also be there so it is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about our organisation Birmingham and to find out more about how you can get the most out of your membership.
The next lunch is on Friday 20 January 2005 at Mills & Reeves' offices on Colmore Row . Many thanks to Mills & Reeve for kindly hosting this event. If you cannot make this lunch, you will be invited to join the next new members' lunch, which will be held in the next three months. Details of the new members' lunches and all Birmingham Future events can be found on the website where you can book events online and also find out more about the organisation.
The Membership Committee also operates a buddying scheme. This basically pairs up new members with more established members so that you have a 'contact' within the organisation. The idea is that you speak/email/meet before a Birmingham Future event so that you will know someone before you go there. Please contact a member of the Membership Team to find out more or please e-mail the current Chair Amanda Shearer at Amanda.Shearer@mills-reeve.com or current Deputy Chair Carla MacLeod at carlamacleod@needhamandjames.com

Keynote Lunch with Sir Bill Morris

On 27 January at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham Future will be hosting a keynote lunch at which Sir Bill Morris, former leader of the Transport & General Workers Union will be the guest speaker. Securing a speaker of Sir Bill’s profile is a real coup for Birmingham Future and we hope you will support us by attending this special event, He will be speaking to us amongst other things on diversity in the workplace - a campaign at the heart of our strategy.
